I'm not sure what my problem is but me and my eye brows DO NOT get along. I've been growing my eye brows out for about a year now it feels like forever honestly. (doesn't help that I changed the shape so had to re grow them again) However, I've finally found something that actually makes my brows look natural, and real. Some products I like them at first then, when I look at pictures, or edit a video they look so freaking dark that I just have to re film, or take a new picture. I'm not obsessed but I kind of feel like I have been obsessing the last few months.
As I was browsing through the elf products recently at Target. I had noticed that they had so many new elf products that they usually don't have, which I was totally excited, for the most part. One product that I have been eyeing for a little while now was the elf brow kit. I've never seen it at any stores that sell elf. Coincidentally the day that I picked this product up I didn't fill/ draw in my brows yet that day. The first thing I did when I went home was opened up the brow kit, and filled them in. I was literally opening the product as I was driving home, because I was hoping that I finally found a solution to my bold, dramatic eye brows. When I fill my brows I want them to look as natural as possible. I feel so insecure, and self conscious when they're so dark and unnatural looking. I've browsed through some of my photos on my computer and thought to myself so many different times "why did I draw my eye brows on so dark". Well I can't really tell you why, or how, or even when I noticed I just think that I was buying the wrong product for my hair color. My hair isn't naturally this dark however, my eye brows are freaking dark. Therefore, I can not draw them on any lighter because its dramatically noticeable. I know your suppose to go "two shades lighter if your hairs dark", or "two shades darker if your hair is light" but I can't do that so screw the stupid rule! Here are some of the products that I've been really enjoying.
I usually use a mascara looking brush and brush my brows upward before I do anything with them.
After that I outline my brows using darkest waxy color in the elf brow kit using the angled side of the brush. (their's two colors in the kit a dark waxy color, and a lighter powder color). I sometimes have to outline them over more in the front because your eye brows are suppose to start from the corner of your nose, and end at the corner of your eye.
After I outline them I fill them in still using the elf eye brow kit I'm just blending, and filling in my brows with the lighter powder color using the other side of the brush.
Next I set my brows with a wax stick to keep the color in place, and it also helps them last throughout the day. You can also use a clear mascara to set your brows or even a clear lip gloss if you don't have brow gel.
Then I use the mascara brush tool thingy again and brush any access or extra color off of my brows to make them look a little lighter and appear natural just the way I like it.
Finally I use a highlight color just under the arch of my brow to clean up any messes and make my brows look like perfection. Again you can also shape, and clean them up with a concealer I've noticed that really helps if your brows aren't to the full extent you'd like them to be, it helps you get them to the desired shape.
After I've finished my brows then I can finally pluck any spare hairs outside of my brow. This helps and prevents you from over plucking which I use to do A LOT! Now I won't pluck or wax until I have finished filling them in because its easier to see what hairs you need or might not need especially if your trying to grow them out.
Here is what they look like
I hope this was helpful. What products do you use?
